Made my way to the Matisyahu show last week at the Phoenix. I wasnt sure what to expect since i wasnt familiar with any of the artists, except Matisyahu, a little, because he allows taping of his concerts and is on the Live Music Archive. Anyways the show started with Trevor Hall doing a 30 minute set. Trevor’s set was quite good except for the chatty crowd. At times it was hard to hear him. Next up was local artist K’Naan. He’s got a new album coming out in early 2009. I really enjoyed his set even though im not totally into his genre. Good music is good music though. Matisyahy was up next and played a solid set. Over 2 hours.

Grace Potter & The Nocturnals played Lee’s Palace this week. Bringing along friends Blues & Lasers (formerly the Scott Tournet Band) which consists mostly of The Nocturnals. Blues & Lasers started things off and played a very good and enjoyable 40 minute set. Grace and crew followed that up with almost 2 hours of more great music, including some very nice covers.
